New faculty and staff appointments announced

NORTH NEWTON, KAN. – Bethel College announces the following new faculty and staff appointments for the 2012-13 school year:

Aaron Austin, vice president for student life. He has a bachelor’s degree in music education from Kansas State University and a master’s degree in higher and postsecondary education from Arizona State University.

Ryan Bourque, head cross-country coach and assistant track coach. He has a B.S. in health and physical education from the University of Mobile.

Lei Cao, visiting assistant professor of mathematics. He has a B.S. in applied math from Lanzhou University, an M.S. in math from Beihang University, Beijing, and a Ph.D. in math from Drexel University, Philadelphia.

Brandon Corbin, assistant football coach.

Marisa Daniels, instructor of nursing. She has a B.A. from Wichita State University and a BSN from Newman University, Wichita.

Mike Doerksen, assistant men’s basketball coach.

Jim Dotson, interim head football coach. He has a B.S. from Carson-Newman College, Jefferson City, Tenn., and an M.A. from Tennessee Technological University, Cookeville.

Jill Fenske, cheer coach. She has a B.S. from Washburn University.

Jennifer Flynn, head athletic trainer.

Ally Goniea, assistant softball coach.

Pete Herrera, admissions counselor, assistant men’s basketball coach. He has a B.S. from McPherson College.

Tony Hoops, assistant golf coach.

Chris Koehn, assistant football coach.

Tyler Lampert, football graduate assistant. He has a B.S. and an MBA from Southwestern College.

Caleb Lázaro, Warkentin Court resident director and multicultural student adviser. He has an A.A. degree in graphic design from Platte College, Alhambra, Calif.

Daryl McNeil, football graduate assistant.

Marcia Miller, registrar. She has a B.S. from Bethel College and master’s and education specialist degrees from Emporia State University.

Jason Nichols, football graduate assistant.

Erin O’Connor, assistant women’s soccer coach.

Brennan Peacock, head men’s soccer coach. He has a B.S. from Georgia Southern University, Statesboro.

Mario Reyes, assistant men’s soccer coach. He is a 2012 graduate of Bethel College with a B.A. in business administration.

Brittney Roden, Haury Hall resident director. She has a bachelor’s degree in Spanish education from Malone University, Canton, Ohio.

Jon Roden, assistant football coach.

Darrell Schmidt, Academic Center custodian.

Tony Turini, head women’s soccer coach. He has a B.S. from Gannon University, Erie, Pa., and a master’s degree from Edinboro (Pa.) University.

Kip Wedel, visiting assistant professor of history and sociology. He has a B.S. from McPherson College, an M.A. from Emporia State University and a Ph.D. from Kansas State University.

Rhonda Williams, RN-to-BSN program coordinator. She has an A.A. from Allen Community College, a B.S. from Pittsburg State University and an M.S.N. from Fort Hays State University.

Anna Yoder, web editor. She has a B.A. from Bluffton (Ohio) University.

Adjunct faculty members appointed for the 2012-13 school year are:

Jennifer Chappell-Deckert, social work. She has a B.A. from Bethel College and an MSW from the University of Michigan.

Marion Deckert, philosophy. He has a B.A. from Bethel College, an M.A. from Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio, and B.D., M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Chicago.

Bobbi Schrag, nursing (clinical instructor). She has an ADN from Hesston College and a BSN from Tabor College-Wichita.

Carrie Schulz, biology (lab assistant). She is a 2012 graduate of Bethel College with a B.A. in biology and chemistry.

Sandra Thies, education. She has a B.S. from McPherson College and M.S. and Ed.D. degrees from the University of Northern Colorado.

Jessica White-Padgett, business. She has B.B.A. and MBA degrees from Wichita State University.

Bethel College is the only private, liberal arts college in Kansas listed in the 2011-12 Forbes.com analysis of top colleges and universities in the United States and is the highest-ranked Kansas college in the Washington Monthly annual college guide for 2011-12. The four-year liberal arts college is affiliated with Mennonite Church USA.
