What’s your major? Why did you choose it?
Double major in Communications and English. I love public speaking and literature. There is so much you can do with either major.
What brought you to Bethel?
Fate&ellip; I was born on Bethel’s founders day! But honestly, I felt like Bethel could challenge me to become a well-rounded and grounded person because of its emphasis on a liberal arts education. The academic, spiritual, and community aspects – they’re all here&ellip;equally.
What activities have you been involved in?
Currently the list includes: Debate/Forensics, Tennis, Choir, Student Senate, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
What has surprised you about Bethel since you started college?
Being on a first-name basis with all the professors. It was hard to get used to at first, but it really enhances the feeling of community.
What has been your favorite course so far, and why?
Oh man it’s really hard to decide! Can I say I like all of them a lot?
What stands out the most from your first few months at Bethel?
How accommodating my coaches were with cooperating with my tennis, choir, and forensics schedules when they overlapped.
What does it mean to be a Thresher?
To be a Thresher is to be a well-rounded individual. I think every student on campus has been challenged to reach their potential (academically, athletically, socially, and spiritually) in a personal way that not many campuses’ can offer. These Thresher values are unique to a liberal arts education.
