Transfer student grants and awards
Transfer Program Scholarship
Students who transfer in at least 24 credit hours with a GPA from 2.5 to 2.74 are awarded a renewable Transfer Grant of $2,500. Students with a GPA from 2.0 to 2.49 are awarded a renewable Transfer Grant of $2,000.
Legacy Award
A renewable grant of $500 offered to students whose sibling/s, parent/s and/or grandparent/s have attended or currently attend Bethel College.
125th Anniversary Scholarship
The Newton College Association organized in 1887 with the goal of establishing “a nonsectarian but religious college;” the Mennonite community’s aims quickly coincided with those of the wider community. In recognition of being “Newton’s college” Bethel is offering a limited-time scholarship. For residents of Newton or North Newton, who enroll at Bethel between now and 2012, we will guarantee $40,000 in institutional scholarships over four years. There is no residency requirement for those who live at home, and federal and state funds can be stacked on top of this scholarship for those who qualify. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Mennonite Heritage Scholarship
In recognition of Bethel's Mennonite heritage, graduates of Mennonite high schools are guaranteed $40,000 in institutional scholarships over four years. Federal and state funds can be stacked on top of this scholarship for those who qualify. Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0.
National Science Foundation-sponsored S-STEM Scholarships
Ranging from $3,000-10,000 per year, these scholarships are based on financial need and are available to students with academic interests in astronomy, biology (except for pre-health science areas), chemistry, computer science, mathematics, neuroscience, and physics. Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Grant
Renewable transfer grants of $1,000 are available to Phi Theta Kappa members transferring to Bethel College. Grants are awarded to members who have a minimum GPA of 3.2 and 24 transferrable credit hours. Part-time students and students with previous bachelor’s degrees are not eligible.
Hesston College Award
Renewable awards of $2,500 are given to students who transfer directly from Hesston College and enroll as full-time students at Bethel College.

Church Matching Grant
Offered by a church of any denomination on behalf of a student, this grant will be matched by Bethel College dollar for dollar for the first $1,000. Grant dollars beyond $1,000 will be matched at a 1:4 ratio. Churches, read more about this matching grant and complete the agreement form for your students.
AmeriCorps Matching Grant
Bethel College will match funds earned in the AmeriCorps education award at a 1:4 ratio. Read more about how to qualify for this grant.
Mennonite Racial/Ethnic Grant
Awarded to students affiliated with Mennonite Church USA congregations who bring ethnic and cultural diversity. Applicants must be recommended by their admissions counselor and have visited campus in order to be considered. A recommendation from a youth sponsor or pastor is required. This is a renewable grant of $3,000.
Yellow Ribbon Program
Bethel has chosen to participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program, which is an agreement with VA to fund tuition expenses that exceed the highest public in-state undergraduate tuition rate. Read more about eligibility.
