Service Learning Scholarship

Service is an important part of what it means to be a Bethel College Thresher. In addition to the annual school Service Day, students are encouraged to do service throughout the year. One way to do this is through the Service Learning Scholarship. It is awarded to students who want to provide service to the surrounding community as part of their educational experience. Students' placements are based on career interests, hobbies and strengths. See pictures of students at their placements.

Applicants must be recommended by their admissions counselor and have visited campus in order to be considered. Priority goes to first-time freshmen who are not receiving performance awards for athletics or fine arts. Scholarship winners commit to five hours a week working for a local nonprofit agency for both semesters and can renew the scholarship for up to four years. The amount of the grant is $3,000. For more information, contact the Office of Admissions. Read about other service opportunities at Bethel.
