First-time freshman timeline
Keep track of the following times to remind you of which steps to take next.
Sophomore/junior year
- Check out Internet information on scholarship sources and the EFC calculation formula. The EFC calculators should help you estimate what you may expect to pay for college. The EFC formula information is available at www.finaid.org; click on "Calculator."
- Send your ACT (or SAT) scores to Bethel College. Bethel’s ACT code is 1390, SAT code is 6037.
Senior year
September/October/November/December
- Schedule a campus visit by calling us toll-free at (800) 522-1887, ext. 230, registering online or e-mailing us at campusvisit@bethelks.edu to set up a visit.
- You can apply online or download and print the application to be mailed in (requires Adobe Reader, available for free download).
January/February/March
- Complete your income tax forms in preparation for filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- If you haven’t made a campus visit, schedule one now.
- Consider auditioning and/or interviewing for performance scholarships.
- Submit your FAFSA online at www. fafsa.edu.gov by April 1 to be considered for Kansas grants. Bethel College’s Federal School Code is 001905.
April/May
- Complete early enrollment.
- If you haven’t made a campus visit, schedule one now.
- Return your deposit and completed Student Life Contract for the best opportunity for your housing of choice.
- Consider auditioning and/or interviewing for performance scholarships.
June/July/August
- If you haven’t made a campus visit, schedule one now.
- Participate in new student orientation.
- During your first week of classes, apply for an on-campus job.
