First-time freshman grants and awards
Legacy Award
A renewable grant of $500 offered to students whose sibling/s, parent/s and/or grandparent/s have attended or currently attend Bethel College.
Science Scholarships
- Robert W. Schmidt Scholarship: $500 offered to selected students with interests in chemistry, physics, pre-engineering or natural sciences following an interview with science faculty.
- David and Anna Kaufman Zerger Scholarship: $500 offered to selected students with an interest in chemistry following an interview with science faculty.
- 21st Century Science Scholarship: Variable $500 or $1000 offered to selected students with interests in a STEM discipline (biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, natural sciences, physics or psychology) following an interview with science faculty.
- Krehbiel Science Award: $1,200 offered to selected students in the sciences following an interview with science faculty.
Music Scholar
Up to $1,200 offered to selected students following an audition.
Church Matching Grant
Offered by a church of any denomination on behalf of a student, this grant will be matched by Bethel College dollar for dollar for the first $1,000. Grant dollars beyond $1,000 will be matched at a 1:4 ratio. Churches, read more about this matching grant and complete the agreement form for your students.
Service Learning Scholarship
Awarded to students who want to provide service to the surrounding community as part of their educational experience. Applicants must be recommended by their admissions counselor and have visited campus in order to be considered. This is a renewable grant of $3,000.
Mennonite Racial/Ethnic Grant
Awarded to students affiliated with Mennonite Church USA congregations who bring ethnic and cultural diversity. Applicants must be recommended by their admissions counselor and have visited campus in order to be considered. A recommendation from a youth sponsor or pastor is required. This is a renewable grant of $3,000.
Millennium III Scholarship
A grant of $1,500-$3,000 per year in honor of ethnic and cultural diversity on campus, given to selected students based on academic criteria, leadership abilities and potential for success in college life.
Bethel College Grant
Offered to students who have demonstrated qualities that will lead them to be significant contributors to the Bethel College community, upon recommendation of the admissions counselor and following a campus visit; amounts vary and are determined by a committee.
