The More than $90,000 raised at Country Supper and Auctions was used for Krehbiel Auditorium renovations. The makeover included new, wine-colored seats and a matching curtain for the stage. He plans to research and write a textbook for use in courses focused on areas such as economic development and social justice. For the fifth consecutive year, Bethel was named in the Best Comprehensive Colleges–Bachelor’s (Midwest) according to U.S. News & World Report. Ranked 26th, Bethel was the only college in Kansas to be named top tier in the bachelor’s degree category. Bethel College was also listed with schools that have the most students who receive athletic scholarships (33%). Bethel College has created the Dwight Platt Prairie Reconstruction Endowment to promote development of Kauffman Museum’s 1.5-acre tallgrass prairie reconstruction. The endowment honors Dwight Platt, professor emeritus of biology and Kauffman Museum prairie consultant. He initiated the prairie reconstruction, which has more than 100 species of wildflowers and 16 species of grasses, in 1984. Kauffman Museum also has been recognized as an official Backyard Wildlife Habitat by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks. |
