President

The Bethel College Board of Directors invites applications or nominations for the position of President.

Bethel College is a private, liberal arts, undergraduate college affiliated with the Mennonite Church USA and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Majors and concentrations include traditional liberal arts and science fields, pre-professional and accredited professional programs (nursing, social work, and teacher education). The student body of 430 students is approximately two-thirds residential and traditional age and one-third non-residential and non-traditional. Distinctive emphases include peace, justice and conflict resolution, cross-cultural awareness and discipleship rooted in free conviction and commitment to Christian community.

Resident Director

Bethel College (North Newton, Kansas) invites applications for a Resident Director for a coed residence hall to begin early summer, 2010. A member of the Student Life team, this Resident Director is responsible for the overall leadership and administration of a residence hall which houses up to160 students. Additional responsibilities may include serving as Multicultural/International Student Advisor, facilitating meetings and events, and monitoring budgets. This is a live-in, full-time position during the school year with time off during the summer. The successful candidate will be a role model, advisor and mentor for residents; recruit, select, train, supervise and evaluate student staff; implement campus community standards; possibly facilitate groups on an adventure course; and fulfill other general duties assigned by the VP for Student Life.

Qualifications include commitment to Bethel’s Christian ethics, passion for student development and diversity, cultural competency, organizational skills, interpersonal communication skills and a genuine interest and satisfaction in working with students, faculty and staff. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in any field is required. Advanced degrees, bilingual and previous experience with student organizations, orientation, residence life, supervision and/or peer advising preferred. Theater Faculty/Recruiter

Bethel College seeks a full-time Theater generalist starting August 2010. The position is a 9-month position; renewal contingent on meeting recruitment goals. Responsibilities will include: 1) instructional duties in the Communication Arts curriculum; 2) directing one or two main-stage productions; and 3) meeting defined goals for recruiting new students for theater performance. Additional responsibilities may be included based on the candidate’s qualifications. Advanced degree in Theater preferred/persons with comparable professional experience may apply. Salaried position with benefits package included.
