Vice President for Student Life

Bethel College, North Newton, Kansas, is currently accepting applications for the position of Vice President for Student Life to begin July 1, 2012 or before.

The VP for Student Life is responsible to initiate and administer student life programs at Bethel College, reports directly to the President, and serves on the President’s Cabinet. Five years of Student Life experience in a primarily residential setting is required. Preference will be given to candidates who have earned a Master’s degree or higher in a field applicable to Student Life administration, and who have demonstrated progressive advancement in Student Life work experience. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills are also required. Candidates must sympathize with and advocate for the mission of Bethel College.

Bethel College is a private, liberal arts, undergraduate college affiliated with the Mennonite Church USA and accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. Majors and concentrations include traditional liberal arts and science fields, pre-professional and accredited professional programs which include nursing, athletic training, social work, and teacher education. Football Offensive Coordinator and Assistant Track Coach

Bethel College, North Newton, Kansas, seeks qualified candidates for the full-time, 12-month administrative staff appointment of a Football Offensive Coordinator/Assistant Track Coach to begin immediately. The position will report to the Head Football and Head Track Coach for the overall management and leadership of the football and track programs.

A Bachelor's degree is required, master's degree preferred. Offensive coordinating and track coaching experience required, preferably at the collegiate level (track experience in jumps or throws preferred). The candidate should have previous experience in college recruiting. The candidate must demonstrate experience in program development, management, leadership and the ability to interact with members of the public and media. The ability to supervise staff as well as understand the student's commitment to academics is imperative. This position is physically demanding and may require heavy lifting.

Head Women's Soccer Coach

Bethel College, North Newton, Kansas, seeks qualified candidates for the full-time, 12-month position of Head Women's Soccer Coach to begin immediately.

The position includes planning, organizing and coaching the women's soccer team. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to recruiting, academic oversight, assisting with fundraising and promotion efforts, public relations, coordinating summer camps and coaching clinics. The position reports directly to the Athletic Director.

A Bachelor's degree is required, master's degree preferred, and at least 3 years of collegiate coaching and recruiting experience is required. The candidate must have strong team building skills, management skills and the ability to work across academic and administrative departments in an accommodating manner. Strong written and verbal communication skills are important as well. The candidate must demonstrate experience in program development, management, leadership and the ability to interact with members of the public and media. Nursing / RN-BSN Coordinator

Bethel College is seeking an RN-BSN Nursing Coordinator to begin April 1 or earlier. This is a 12-month, half-time position, with the possibility (through program growth and student demand) of adding teaching commitments to make the position full-time.

The ideal candidate will have experience teaching in an academic or staff development setting and in an online environment, and experience in recruitment in an academic setting. The Coordinator will actively recruit nursing students to the program and subsequently serve as their advisor, provide oversight of course development and faculty development. The Coordinator must be committed to a strong faculty team dedicated to excellent service to students and ongoing process improvement. A baccalaureate and a master's degree in nursing from an accredited school is required; nurses intending to pursue graduate studies in nursing or already enrolled will be considered, with a preference given to those nearing completion of the master's degree. Registrar

Bethel College, North Newton, Kansas, is currently accepting applications for the position of Registrar, to begin by July 2, 2012. This full-time position combines 75% time in the Registrar's Office and 25% time in additional teaching duties. Review of applications will begin February 13 and continue until the position is filled.

The Registrar is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, security, and integrity of all current and past academic student records. The Registrar implements, explains, and enforces academic policies approved by the faculty and administration of the College and is responsible for student registration, degree certification, and FERPA compliance. The Registrar prepares class schedules and the College catalogue. This officer supervises the Associate Registrar and works closely with and reports to the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of service oriented leadership, technical/analytical skills, strong communication, team work and collaboration across campus. This individual must work closely with faculty and staff to increase operational efficacy and provide excellent customer service. In addition to performing the primary duties of the Registrar's Office, this individual will teach two to three courses per year. Applicants should identify areas of expertise and provide evidence of successful teaching.

Requirements include 1) excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; 2) attention to detail and ability to multitask; 3) current knowledge of (or commitment to mastering) Jenzabar CX /JX software; 4) three to five years of experience in a Registrar's Office or equivalent professional responsibilities. 5) Bachelor's degree considered, Master's degree preferred.
