Alumni Association
If you are a graduate of Bethel College or a former student who has earned 24 or more credit hours (usually done in one year at Bethel), you are automatically considered a member of the Alumni Association. Faculty members with a minimum of one year of service at Bethel are also members of the association.
Since 1894, members of the Alumni Association have participated in and contributed to the program and mission of Bethel College. The purpose of the association, as stated in its constitution, is to “further the interests of Bethel College, to advance the cause of education and to establish a mutually beneficial relationship between the college and its alumni.”
Alumni Council and Affiliate Groups
An Alumni Association council (known as the Alumni Council) advises and is supported by the staff of the Office of Alumni Relations.
Several groups operate somewhat independently under the umbrella of the Alumni Council, with focus on areas of specific interest. These include the African-American Alumni Association, Student Alumni Association and Young Alumni Association. Each of these groups selects its own leadership and works closely with the Office of Alumni Relations to implement special programs and activities.
In addition, a Nursing Alumni Association and the Friends of Bethel College in Germany (Förderverein der Freunde des Bethel Colleges) enhance college programming as they support specific departments as well as relationships among alumni.
Alumni Mentorship and Scholarship Programs
Related to the work of the Alumni Association is the Alumni Mentor Project, made possible by alumni in various professions who have volunteered to interact with current students as they explore academic majors and career paths.
The Alumni Association also supports two alumni scholarship funds through donations and a credit card affinity program.
