Baccalaureate & Commencement
Bethel College 2014 graduation ceremonies take place Sunday, May 18, on the Bethel College Campus.
A Baccalaureate ceremony starts at 10:00am, with musical selections by seniors, and worship beginning at 10:30am. Services will be taking place at Bethel College Mennonite Church. For Baccalaureate, graduates do not need to wear their graduation robes, and they are welcome to sit with their families.
Following Baccalaureate, graduates, family members, and guests are invited to a Commencement Lunch from 12:00 to 1:30pm in Schultz Student Center. The meal will be prepared by our Executive Chef, Trent Homewood, and Food Service Director, Nolan Corne with Aladdin Food Service. Advance reservations are required. Those planning to attend the lunch need to RSVP.
The formal Commencement ceremony takes place at 4:00pm at Thresher Stadium. Both the Baccalaureate service and the Commencement ceremony are open to the public. In case of inclement weather, Commencement will take place in Memorial Hall located on campus. Commencement guests are welcome to park in the Thresher Stadium parking lot.
Commencement rehearsal for graduates will take place on Saturday, May 17 from 10:00 to 12:00am at Thresher Stadium. More details will be sent from the Registrar’s Office through campus mail at a later date.
President White, faculty, graduates, and designated others will begin the Commencement ceremony with the traditional "Walk Around The Green." Commencement guests are invited directly to Thresher Stadium for the ceremony.
Graduation robes, caps, and tassels can be ordered through Thresher Bookstore. Graduation Announcements can be ordered through CB Announcement by visiting www.cbgrad.balfour.com or by calling 800-433-0296. Order forms are also available in Thresher Bookstore.

Baccalaureate and Commencement will be recorded. DVD’s can be ordered through the Bookstore and delivered by mail or by downloading an order form. Video of both ceremonies will also be posted on the Bethel website for viewing.

Senior Celebration Weekend Events
Activities begin Friday evening with a meal, tours and ice cream social. On Saturday is a breakfast for with retired faculty and staff, at which the alumni award recipients share memories of Bethel and reflect their life experience.
The president hosts a mid-morning coffee at Goerz House for classes observing 50 years or more. Those in younger classes mingle over coffee in Schultz Student Center.
Luncheons for classes celebrating their 40th, 45th, 50th, 55th or 60th anniversary are also on Saturday, plus a
Heritage Class luncheon for those observing a 65th, 70th or 75th class anniversary.
Alumni Weekend closes with the annual Alumni Banquet in the evening, where the Awards Committee officially recognizes the honorees.
Some participants stay through Sunday to participate in baccalaureate and commencement, which close the school year.
