Experiential Learning

Bethel fields computer programming teams that compete in the annual ACM North Central North American regional competition. Historically, our teams have been competitive with colleges and universities many times our size. In 2009, our top team finished in 42nd place out of 203 teams. Only four teams that finished ahead of us were from liberal arts colleges – the rest were from large state schools from across the central United States and Canada.

Those seeking hands-on technical experience are encouraged to apply to work for a student job in Bethel’s Department of Information and Media Services (IMS), which provides the campus with computer technical support as well as audiovisual services.
